Herb Ciechanowa

Abstract

Każde średniowieczne miasto szczyciło się swoim herbem , wiele z tych miast próbow ało i nadal stara się wyjaśnić powstanie swojego herbu za pom ocą legend. C iechanów , leżący na północnym Mazowszu, za swój herb obrał postać świętego Piotra. Jednak ustalenie genezy herbu Ciechanowa sprawia pewne trudności. Brak jest zarówno dokum entów jak i pieczęci Ciechanowa z okresu wczesnego średniowiecza.

Ciechanów is one of the medieval towns of northern Mazovia. The town displays on its coat of arms the figure of St. Peter. However establishing the exact history of the town and genesis of the coat of arms of Ciechanów is not without some difficulties. There is furthermore a lack in addition of both documents and the seal of Ciechanów from the early Middle Ages.
